Hey, I’m Lucy!
I’m a maker based in Folkestone, a Mum of two young kids (and a cat called Gru) and the designer and owner of Lucy Alice Designs.
I founded Lucy Alice Designs in 2012 after completing a Textiles & Surface Design degree. I was determined to make a living doing what I love so I created a business that enables me to spend more time at home with my young family. The company has grown rapidly and products are now stocked throughout the UK in a number of galleries and independent boutiques which is so wonderful (and a little mind blowing!).
M Y P R O C E S S
My illustrations start off as line drawings of habitats where animals creep and hide, such as streets, gardens & countryside. These drawings are manipulated using a love of colour and pattern to create our striking animal designs. We create products that bring colour, conversation and intrigue to you and your home and that’s something I’m really proud of!
The techniques and patterns we use within our jewellery are inspired by old fashioned techniques such as marquetry, inlay & counted stitch embroidery.
